Double free vulnerability in the tvb_uncompress function in epan/tvbuff.c in Wireshark 1.2.x before 1.2.17 and 1.4.x before 1.4.7 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a packet with malformed data that uses zlib compression.

The weakness was published 06/06/2011 by Huzaifa Sidhpurwala as Bug 710097 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared for download at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2011-2174. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
