The PDF functionality in Google Chrome before 21.0.1180.57 on Mac OS X and Linux, and before 21.0.1180.60 on Windows and Chrome Frame, does not properly handle object linkage, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (use-after-free) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted document.
The weakness was published 07/31/2012 by Alexey Samsonov (Trev) with Google as Stable Channel Release as not defined changelog entry (Website). The advisory is available at googlechromereleases.blogspot.ch. The public release has been coordinated with the vendor. This vulnerability was named CVE-2012-2852 since 05/19/2012. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
