The weakness was released 07/31/2012 by Jüri Aedla (Trev) with Google Chrome Security Team as Stable Channel Release as not defined changelog entry (Website). The advisory is shared for download at googlechromereleases.blogspot.ch. The public release was coordinated with the vendor. This vulnerability was named CVE-2012-2858 since 05/19/2012. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
