The browser engine in Mozilla Firefox before 8.0 and Thunderbird before 8.0 does not properly allocate memory, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory corruption and application crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code via unspecified vectors.

The weakness was disclosed 11/09/2011 as Bug 682727 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is available at bugzilla.mozilla.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2011-3652 since 09/23/2011. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
