A vulnerability has been found in Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.5.1/10.1.3 (Document Reader Software) and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown part. The weakness was presented 08/14/2012 by Nicolas Gregoire with iDefense Labs VCP as APSB12-16 as confirmed bulletin (Website). The advisory is shared at adobe.com. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with Adobe. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2012-1525 since 03/08/2012. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack needs to be done within the local network. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details are unknown but a private exploit is available.

It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 69454 (GLSA-201308-03 : Adobe Reader: Multiple vulnerabilities), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.
