Details
A vulnerability was found in Plone up to 2.5.5 (Content Management System). It has been classified as problematic. This affects an unknown code. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a input validation vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-20. The product receives input or data, but it does
not validate or incorrectly validates that the input has the
properties that are required to process the data safely and
correctly. This is going to have an impact on availability. The summary by CVE is:
Plone 4.1.3 and earlier computes hash values for form parameters without restricting the ability to trigger hash collisions predictably, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (CPU consumption) by sending many crafted parameters.
The weakness was disclosed 12/29/2011 by Alexander Klink with n.runs AG as confirmed advisory (CERT.org). It is possible to read the advisory at kb.cert.org.
