The Negotiate Security Software Provider (SSP) interface in Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash from null dereference) or execute arbitrary code via a crafted SPNEGO NegTokenInit request during authentication protocol selection.

The bug was discovered 02/19/2004. The weakness was shared 04/13/2004 by Chen Qing with NSFOCUS Security Team as MS04-011 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is shared at microsoft.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2004-0119 since 02/03/2004. The attack needs to approached within the local network. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
