The weakness was disclosed 09/25/2012 by Gynvael Coldwind (pawlkt) with Google Chrome Security Team as confirmed posting (MITRE CVE) via 2012-2879. The advisory is shared at cve.mitre.org. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with Google. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2012-2879 since 05/19/2012. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a private exploit is available.
