Cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerability in the CentralAuth extension for MediaWiki before 1.19.9, 1.20.x before 1.20.8, and 1.21.x before 1.21.3 allows remote attackers to hijack the authentication of users for requests that login via vectors involving image loading.

The weakness was presented 12/13/2013 as Bug 40747 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). It is possible to read the advisory at bugzilla.wikimedia.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2012-5394 since 10/17/2012. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.
