Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in Flowplayer Flash before 3.2.17, as used in Moodle through 2.3.11, 2.4.x before 2.4.9, 2.5.x before 2.5.5, and 2.6.x before 2.6.2, allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML by (1) providing a crafted playerId or (2) referencing an external domain, a related issue to CVE-2013-7342.

The weakness was disclosed 03/24/2014 by Andrew (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at moodle.org. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2013-7341 since 03/20/2014. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1059.007 according to MITRE ATT&CK.

The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 12888 (Moodle Versions Prior to 2.6.2, 2.5.5 and 2.4.9 Multiple Vulnerabilities).

There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
