A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Oracle GlassFish Server 3.0.1/3.1.2 (Application Server Software). This issue affects an unknown code block of the component JavaServer Faces. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Impacted is integrity.
The weakness was shared 07/16/2014 by Alvaro Munoz as Oracle Critical Patch Update Advisory - July 2014 as confirmed advisory (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at oracle.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2013-5855 since 09/18/2013. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.
