CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability classified as critical was found in Apache OpenOffice 4.0.0/4.0.1/4.1.0 (Office Suite Software). This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the file Calc. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a command injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-77. The product constructs all or part of a command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

Apache OpenOffice before 4.1.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands and possibly have other unspecified impact via a crafted Calc spreadsheet.

The weakness was disclosed 08/21/2014 by Rohan Durve and James Kettle with Context Information Security as Apache OpenOffice Calc Command Injection Vulnerability as confirmed posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is available at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2014-3524 since 05/14/2014. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1202 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 80080 (LibreOffice 4.3.x < 4.3.1 Multiple Vulnerabilities), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Windows. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 122824 (LibreOffice Multiple Security Vulnerabilities).

Upgrading to version 4.1.1 eliminates this vulnerability.

The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at X-Force (95421), Tenable (80080), SecurityFocus (BID 69351†), Secunia (SA59600†) and Vulnerability Center (SBV-47886†). The entry VDB-67401 is pretty similar. Once again VulDB remains the best source for vulnerability data.
