The Passcode Lock implementation in Apple iOS before 6.0.1 does not properly manage the lock state, which allows physically proximate attackers to bypass an intended passcode requirement and access Passbook passes via unspecified vectors.
The bug was discovered 11/01/2012. The weakness was released 11/01/2012 by Anton Tsviatkou as HT5567 as confirmed knowledge base article (Website). The advisory is shared for download at support.apple.com. The public release was coordinated with the vendor. This vulnerability was named CVE-2012-3750 since 06/19/2012. The attack needs to be approached locally. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a private exploit is available.
