Details
A vulnerability was found in Apple Safari 6.0.1 (Web Browser). It has been rated as critical. This issue affects an unknown code of the component Javascript Array Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a race condition vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-362. The product contains a code sequence that can run concurrently with other code, and the code sequence requires temporary, exclusive access to a shared resource, but a timing window exists in which the shared resource can be modified by another code sequence that is operating concurrently. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Race condition in WebKit in Apple iOS before 6.0.1 and Safari before 6.0.2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (application crash) via vectors involving JavaScript arrays.
The bug was discovered 11/01/2012. The weakness was disclosed 11/01/2012 by Joost Pol and Daan Keuper (TippingPoint) with Zero Day Initiative as HT5568 as confirmed knowledge base article (Website).
