A vulnerability was found in Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center 11.1.3/12.1.4 (Software Management Software). It has been rated as critical. This issue affects an unknown part of the component Update Provisioning. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a race condition vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-362. The product contains a code sequence that can run concurrently with other code, and the code sequence requires temporary, exclusive access to a shared resource, but a timing window exists in which the shared resource can be modified by another code sequence that is operating concurrently. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2014-0226 since 12/03/2013. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
The exploit is available at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 78331 (Amazon Linux AMI : httpd (ALAS-2014-388)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.
