The weakness was released 11/20/2012 by Abhishek Arya (Inferno) with Google Chrome Security as mfsa2012-105 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at mozilla.org. The public release was coordinated with Mozilla. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2012-4217 since 08/08/2012. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details as well as a private exploit are known.
