The kernel-mode drivers in Microsoft Windows XP SP2 and SP3, Windows Server 2003 SP2, Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 SP2, R2, and R2 SP1, Windows 7 Gold and SP1, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, and Windows RT allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted TrueType Font (TTF) file, aka "TrueType Font Parsing Vulnerability."

The bug was discovered 12/11/2012. The weakness was presented 12/11/2012 with Microsoft as MS12-078 as confirmed bulletin (Microsoft Technet). The advisory is shared for download at technet.microsoft.com. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2012-4786 since 09/06/2012. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
