Mozilla Firefox before 18.0 on Android and SeaMonkey before 2.15 do not restrict a touch event to a single IFRAME element, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information or possibly conduct cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks via a crafted HTML document.
The weakness was shared 01/08/2013 by Wesley Johnston (regenrecht) with Mozilla Corporation as MFSA 2013-06 as confirmed bulletin (Website). The advisory is available at mozilla.org. The vendor cooperated in the coordination of the public release. This vulnerability was named CVE-2013-0751 since 01/02/2013. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are unknown but a private exploit is available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1068 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
It is declared as proof-of-concept. Upgrading to version 18.0 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
