The CallerIdentityLoginModule in JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) 5.2.0, Web Platform (EWP) 5.2.0, and BRMS Platform before 5.3.1 allows remote attackers to gain privileges of the previous user via a null password, which causes the previous user s password to be used.
The weakness was published 01/24/2013 by Carlo de Wolf (vlet) with Red Hat as Bug#836451 as confirmed bug report (Website). The advisory is shared for download at bugzilla.redhat.com. The public release has been coordinated with the vendor. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2012-3369 since 06/14/2012. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
