A vulnerability was found in Adobe Acrobat 6.0/6.0.1 (Document Reader Software). It has been classified as critical. This affects an unknown code of the file File Extension Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. The bug was discovered 02/02/2004. The weakness was presented 07/12/2004 by Greg MacManus with iDefense (Website). The advisory is shared at idefense.com. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version. A possible mitigation has been published even before and not after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
