VMware Workstation 10.x before 10.0.5, VMware Player 6.x before 6.0.6, and VMware Fusion 6.x before 6.0.6 and 7.x before 7.0.1 allow attackers to cause a denial of service against a 32-bit guest OS or 64-bit host OS via a crafted RPC command.
The weakness was shared 06/09/2015 by Peter Kamensky (DiGiT) with Digital Security as VMSA-2015-0004 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at vmware.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2015-2341 since 03/18/2015. The attack needs to be approached locally. The successful exploitation requires a simple authentication. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
