A vulnerability has been found in Google Chrome up to 43.0.2357.134 (Web Browser) and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is the function Document::delay of the file fpdfsdk/src/javascript/Document.cpp of the component PDFium. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a use after free vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-416. Multiple use-after-free vulnerabilities in fpdfsdk/src/javascript/Document.cpp in PDFium, as used in Google Chrome before 44.0.2403.89, allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted PDF document, related to the (1) Document::delay and (2) Document::DoFieldDelay functions.
The weakness was presented 07/23/2015 by Chamal De Silva (Cloudfuzzer) with Baidu X-Team as Stable Channel Update, July 2015 as confirmed release notes (Blog). It is possible to read the advisory at googlechromereleases.blogspot.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2015-1282. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit. The pricing for an exploit might be around USD $5k-$25k at the moment (estimation calculated on 06/03/2022). It is expected to see the exploit prices for this product increasing in the near future.
