A vulnerability was found in Apple iOS up to 8.4.0 (Smartphone Operating System). It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown part of the component libxpc. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. libxpc in Apple iOS before 8.4.1 and OS X before 10.10.5 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code in a privileged context or cause a denial of service (memory corruption) via a crafted app that sends a malformed XPC message.
The weakness was shared 08/11/2015 by Ilja van Sprundel with Google Project Zero as HT205030 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at support.apple.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-3795 since 05/07/2015. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The current price for an exploit might be approx. USD $5k-$25k (estimation calculated on 02/02/2025).
