The weakness was presented 08/11/2015 by Ilja van Sprundel with Google Project Zero as HT205031 as confirmed advisory (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2015-3807 since 05/07/2015. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 85409 (Mac OS X Multiple Vulnerabilities (Security Update 2015-006)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family MacOS X Local Security Checks.
