The weakness was disclosed 09/16/2015 by Filippo Bigarella (beist) with @PanguTeam/TaiG Jailbreak Team as HT205212 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at support.apple.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-5839 since 08/06/2015. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $5k-$25k at the moment (estimation calculated on 11/21/2024). It is expected to see the exploit prices for this product increasing in the near future.This vulnerability is assigned to T1211 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
