A vulnerability was found in Apple iTunes up to 12.2 (Multimedia Player Software). It has been classified as critical. This affects some unknown processing of the component WebKit. Multiple memory corruption issues existed in WebKit. These issues were addressed through improved memory handling.
The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 86270 (Mac OS X < 10.11 Multiple Vulnerabilities (GHOST)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family MacOS X Local Security Checks. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 124142 (Apple Safari 9.0 Not Installed (APPLE-SA-2015-09-30-2)).
Upgrading to version 12.3 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
