Google Chrome before 25.0.1364.97 on Windows and Linux, and before 25.0.1364.99 on Mac OS X, does not properly restrict API privileges during interaction with the Chrome Web Store, which has unspecified impact and attack vectors.

The weakness was released 02/21/2013 by Alexander Potapenko (Inferno) with Chromium Development Community as 172369 as confirmed posting (Website). The advisory is shared for download at code.google.com. The public release was coordinated with the vendor. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2013-0885 since 01/07/2013. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a private exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1068.
