The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a information disclosure vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-200. The product exposes sensitive information to an actor that is not explicitly authorized to have access to that information. Impacted is confidentiality.

The weakness was disclosed 02/21/2013 by Mariano Nunez Di Croce with Onapsis as File 120501/SAP as confirmed advisory (Packetstorm). The advisory is shared at packetstormsecurity.com. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with SAP. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a private exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1592 for this issue.

It is declared as proof-of-concept.

Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at service.sap.com. A possible mitigation has been published before and not just after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
