A vulnerability was found in SAP Software Deployment Manager (version now known). It has been classified as problematic. Affected is some unknown processing of the component Authentication Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a denial of service vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-404. The product does not release or incorrectly releases a resource before it is made available for re-use. This is going to have an impact on availability.

The weakness was presented 02/21/2013 by Mariano Nunez Di Croce and Jordan Santarsieri with Onapsis as File 120504/SAP as confirmed advisory (Packetstorm). The advisory is available at packetstormsecurity.com. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Technical details are unknown but a private exploit is available.
