A vulnerability was found in LibreSSL 2.0.0/2.3.0. It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects the function OBJ_obj2txt. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory leak vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-401. The product does not sufficiently track and release allocated memory after it has been used, which slowly consumes remaining memory. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality.
The weakness was published 10/15/2015 with Qualys as confirmed mailinglist post (Full-Disclosure). The advisory is available at seclists.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-5333 since 07/01/2015. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely.
