A vulnerability was found in Apple Mac OS X up to 10.11.1 (Operating System) and classified as very critical. This issue affects some unknown processing of the component CoreMedia Playback. CoreMedia Playback in Apple iOS before 9.2, OS X before 10.11.2, tvOS before 9.1, and watchOS before 2.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption) via a malformed media file.

Multiple memory corruption issues existed in the processing of malformed media files. These issues were addressed through improved memory handling.

Upgrading to version 10.11.2 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
