The weakness was published 12/08/2015 by John Villamil (j00ru) with Yahoo Pentest Team as HT205637 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at support.apple.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-7001 since 09/16/2015. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The current price for an exploit might be approx. An issue existed in the sandbox's handling of hard links. This issue was addressed through improved hardening of the app sandbox.
