A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Apple iOS up to 9.1 (Smartphone Operating System). This issue affects an unknown function of the component QuickLook. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-119. QuickLook in Apple iOS before 9.2 and OS X before 10.11.2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption) via a crafted iWork file.
The weakness was published 12/08/2015 by Muneaki Nishimura as HT205635 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at support.apple.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2015-7107 since 09/16/2015. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. A memory corruption issue existed in the handling of iWork files. This issue was addressed through improved memory handling.

Upgrading to version 9.2 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
