Google Chrome before 26.0.1410.43 does not ensure that an extension has the tabs (aka APIPermission::kTab) permission before providing a URL to this extension, which has unspecified impact and remote attack vectors.
The weakness was released 03/26/2013 by Michael Vrable with Google Inc. as not defined changelog entry (Website). The advisory is shared at googlechromereleases.blogspot.ch. The public release was coordinated with Google. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2013-0925 since 01/07/2013. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be launched remotely.
