A vulnerability was found in Google Chrome up to 25.0.1364.172 (Web Browser). It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function RenderViewImpl::decidePolicyForNavigation of the file content/renderer/render_view_impl.cc. Google Chrome before 26.0.1410.43 does not prevent navigation to developer tools in response to a drag-and-drop operation, which allows user-assisted remote attackers to have an unspecified impact via a crafted web site.
The weakness was disclosed 03/26/2013 by Vsevolod Vlasov with Chromium development community as not defined changelog entry (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at googlechromereleases.blogspot.com. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with Google. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2013-0918 since 01/07/2013. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1068 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
