CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in Cisco IOS up to 15.2 (Router Operating System). It has been classified as critical. Affected is an unknown code of the component Resource Reservation Protocol Feature. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. This is going to have an impact on availability. CVE summarizes:

The RSVP protocol implementation in Cisco IOS 12.2 and 15.0 through 15.2 and IOS XE 3.1.xS through 3.4.xS before 3.4.5S and 3.5.xS through 3.7.xS before 3.7.2S, when MPLS-TE is enabled, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (incorrect memory access and device reload) via a traffic engineering PATH message in an RSVP packet, aka Bug ID CSCtg39957.

The weakness was shared 03/27/2013 with Cisco as File 120996/Cis as confirmed advisory (Packetstorm). The advisory is shared for download at packetstormsecurity.com. The vendor cooperated in the coordination of the public release. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2013-1143 since 01/11/2013. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Technical details are unknown but a private exploit is available.

It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 65890 (Cisco IOS Software Resource Reservation Protocol Denial of Service Vulnerability (cisco-sa-20130327-rsvp)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family CISCO. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 43269 (Cisco IOS Software Resource Reservation Protocol Denial of Service Vulnerability (cisco-sa-20130327-rsvp)).

Upgrading eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.

The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at Tenable (65890), SecurityFocus (BID 58743†), OSVDB (91757†), Secunia (SA52789†) and SecurityTracker (ID 1028355†). The entries VDB-8128, VDB-8127, VDB-8126 and VDB-8125 are related to this item. Once again VulDB remains the best source for vulnerability data.
