A vulnerability was found in MIT Kerberos 5-1.3.4 (Network Authentication Software). It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is some unknown processing. Double free vulnerabilities in the error handling code for ASN.1 decoders in the (1) Key Distribution Center (KDC) library and (2) client library for MIT Kerberos 5 (krb5) 1.3.4 and earlier may allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code.
The bug was discovered 08/31/2004. The weakness was presented 08/31/2004 by Will Fiveash and Nico Williams with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Website). The advisory is available at web.mit.edu. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2004-0642 since 07/08/2004. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
