A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in cPanel (Hosting Control Software) (affected version unknown). This affects an unknown functionality of the file repairdb.html. The manipulation of the argument db with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. This is going to have an impact on integrity.
The bug was discovered 03/12/2004. The weakness was disclosed 03/13/2004 by Sullo (Website). The advisory is shared at cirt.net. The exploitability is told to be easy.
