A vulnerability was found in ThWboard (Forum Software) (version unknown) and classified as problematic. This issue affects an unknown function of the file calendar.php. The manipulation of the argument events with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Impacted is integrity.
The bug was discovered 11/02/2003. The weakness was disclosed 11/03/2003 by ThWboard Staff with ThWboard (Website). The advisory is shared at cvs.sourceforge.net. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.
The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 1 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k. By approaching the search of inurl:calendar.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
