A vulnerability was found in MySource (the affected version is unknown). It has been declared as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown code of the file insert_table.php. The manipulation of the argument bgcolor with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. As an impact it is known to affect integrity.
The bug was discovered 09/30/2005. The weakness was presented 10/18/2005 by Secunia Security Advisories with Secunia (Website). The advisory is shared at secunia.com. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.
The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 18 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k. By approaching the search of inurl:insert_table.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
