A vulnerability was found in X.Org up to 1.5.99.901 (1.6 RC1) and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is the function XListFontsWithInfo/XGetMotionEvents/XListHosts/XGetModifierMapping/XGetPointerMapping/XGetKeyboardMapping/XGetWindowProperty/XGetImage in the library libX11. The weakness was released 05/23/2013 by Ilja van Sprundel with IOActive as not defined advisory (Website). The advisory is available at x.org. The public release was coordinated with the vendor. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2013-1981 since 02/19/2013. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be launched remotely.
