Firefox before 1.0 and Mozilla before 1.7.5 allows inactive (background) tabs to launch dialog boxes, which can allow remote attackers to spoof the dialog boxes from web sites in other windows and facilitate phishing attacks, aka the "Dialog Box Spoofing Vulnerability."
The bug was discovered 10/04/2004. The weakness was disclosed 10/20/2004 by Jakob Balle (mikx) with Secunia Research (Website). The advisory is shared at secunia.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2004-1380 since 01/25/2005. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
