Mozilla before 1.7.6, and Firefox before 1.0.1, allows remote attackers to spoof arbitrary web sites by injecting content from one window into a target window whose name is known but resides in a different domain, as demonstrated using a pop-up window on a trusted web site, aka the "window injection" vulnerability.
The weakness was released 10/20/2004 by Jakob Balle with Secunia Research (Website). The advisory is shared at secunia.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2004-1156 since 12/08/2004. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but an exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1592 for this issue.
