The weakness was presented 10/05/2016 by Tobias Stoeckmann with OpenBSD (Website). The advisory is shared for download at openwall.com. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2016-7947 since 09/09/2016. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
