A vulnerability was found in Exponent CMS (Content Management System) (the affected version is unknown). It has been classified as critical. This affects an unknown code of the file cron/find_help.php. The manipulation of the argument version with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability (Blind). The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. SQL injection vulnerability in cron/find_help.php in Exponent CMS 2.3.9 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the version parameter.
The weakness was disclosed 11/02/2016 by Obfuscator as Disclose [10 * cve] in Exponent CMS as confirmed mailinglist post (Full-Disclosure). The advisory is shared at seclists.org. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2016-7780. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1505 for this issue.

Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at github.com.
