The rtl8139_cplus_transmit function in hw/net/rtl8139.c in QEMU (aka Quick Emulator) allows local guest OS administrators to cause a denial of service (infinite loop and CPU consumption) by leveraging failure to limit the ring descriptor count.
The weakness was shared 11/04/2016 by Jason Wang (Website). The advisory is available at openwall.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2016-8910 since 10/24/2016. Local access is required to approach this attack. A simple authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.
