An issue was discovered in phpMyAdmin. With a crafted request parameter value it is possible to initiate a denial of service attack in import feature. All 4.6.x versions (prior to 4.6.5), 4.4.x versions (prior to 4.4.15.9), and 4.0.x versions (prior to 4.0.10.18) are affected.
The bug was discovered 12/06/2016. The weakness was disclosed 12/11/2016 by Emanuel Bronshtein (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2016-9859 since 12/06/2016. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely.
