Blink in Google Chrome prior to 56.0.2924.76 for Linux, Windows and Mac, and 56.0.2924.87 for Android, incorrectly handled object owner relationships, which allowed a remote attacker to inject arbitrary scripts or HTML (UXSS) via a crafted HTML page.
The bug was discovered 01/25/2017. The weakness was released 02/17/2017 by Armin Razmdjou (Paul) with Tresorit (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at chromereleases.googleblog.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2017-5006 since 01/02/2017. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1059.007 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
