A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in virglrenderer (version now known). Affected is the function vrend_decode_set_framebuffer_state of the file vrend_decode.c of the component Application. The manipulation of the argument nr_cbufs with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-119. Stack-based buffer overflow in the vrend_decode_set_framebuffer_state function in vrend_decode.c in virglrenderer before 926b9b3460a48f6454d8bbe9e44313d86a65447f, as used in Quick Emulator (QEMU), allows a local guest users to cause a denial of service (application crash) via the "nr_cbufs" argument.
The bug was discovered 03/14/2017. The weakness was published 03/14/2017 by Li Qiang with 360.cn Inc. (oss-sec). The advisory is available at openwall.com.
