The util_format_is_pure_uint function in vrend_renderer.c in Virgil 3d project (aka virglrenderer) 0.6.0 and earlier allows local guest OS users to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference) via a crafted VIRGL_CCMD_CLEAR command.

The bug was discovered 03/15/2017. The weakness was disclosed 03/15/2017 by Li Qiang with 360.cn Inc. (oss-sec). The advisory is shared for download at openwall.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2017-5937 since 02/08/2017. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack needs to be approached locally. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
